New and improved for summer of 2020! Our summer reading challenge (on the back) provides a wonderful opportunity for students and families to enjoy fabulous books together. This year we have added an Environmental Component to the challenge! The goal of our summer double challenge is to foster a love of reading and appreciation for our environment. Reading over the summer can also help students to maintain or even improve their reading skills. Students should be encouraged to read books that match their level of comprehension. Read alouds also count! Even though the school library won't be open, students can find a wide variety of books online, read the books they received from Wake Up and Read, or explore the resources available on the LH Media Center at http://lhesbookworm.weebly.com/summer-reading.html Complete as many of the items as possible over summer break. Just record the date your student completes each activity in the corresponding box. You can also color in the boxes as you complete them. When school resumes on August 17th, return the signed form. There are 48 challenges in all. Complete 15 challenges, you receive a prize. Complete 25, you will receive a second prize. Complete 40, you will also get a Summer Reading Challenge T-shirt If you have any questions regarding summer reading, please contact Mrs. Bobay at pbobay@wcpss.net. We can’t wait to see how many students can complete these challenges!
